Reiki is a Japanese healing system created by Mikao Usui in approximately 1920. The word Reiki is derived from the Japanese kanji alphabet. Rei means “universal life force” and ki translates to “energy”- therefore Reiki is universal life force energy or spiritual energy. This energy exists within you and all that surrounds you.
From a Usui System of Natural Medicine framework physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dis-stress arises when you are lacking in, or disconnected from positive universal energy.
Reiki works to clear these states and restore you to balance.
After you:
- Treat yourself with Reiki
- Receive a Reiki treatment
- Give a Reiki treatment
- Practice Reiki meditations
you’re more relaxed and can face daily challenges.
You and your surroundings are made up of energy. This is not an esoteric eastern idea. Western scientists also believe that our universe is made up of atoms and particles that are not fixed in form but constantly change and evolve.
How does this idea of ki or energy correlate to your health and wellbeing?
Simplicity speaking when you’re low in ki or your ki is stuck or stagnate you can express symptoms of:
anxiety,
depression,
low energy
and a variety of other health conditions.
Reiki helps restore you to balance, cultivates your ki and helps you to feel better. When you receive Reiki your nervous system relaxes and healing takes place.
